Wisconsin adopts CARES Act tax relief

The state of Wisconsin is adopting tax relief from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act enacted March 27, the Department of Revenue (DOR) recently reported.

Gov. Tony Evers signed April 15 an act that adopts certain tax provisions from Division A of the CARES Act. The provisions apply for Wisconsin tax purposes at the same time as federal income tax purposes. Learn more.

The DOR submitted the proposed guidance document to the Legislative Reference Bureau for publication in the Administrative Register for public comment.
