Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday that he has extended Wisconsin’s Safer at Home order until May 26 in an effort to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial emergency order was to conclude on April 24.
The extension of the order includes several changes. Some changes allow more businesses and activities to open back up, while other changes help make businesses safer for employees and customers.
Under the extension, public libraries, golf courses and some non-essential businesses can ramp up their operations in a limited capacity. However, public and private grade schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
