Hackers are selling stolen Zoom account credentials at dirt-cheap prices, cyber risk assessment experts are discovering.
Zoom, the popular videoconferencing software used to conduct business during the COVID-19 pandemic, has added 2.2 million monthly active users so far in 2020.
One cybersecurity company recently was able to purchase more than 530,000 account credentials on an underground hacking forum for next to nothing. The targeted users later verified that the obtained passwords were correct. Most, if not all, the passwords were old.
To protect your Zoom account (and other software like it), experts recommend using passwords so strong that even you struggle to remember them. Fortunately, a good password management app can help.
