Zoom, the popular videoconferencing software used to conduct business during the COVID-19 pandemic, has a new update to increase security for its users.
The update removes the meeting ID from the title bar when videoconferencing to prevent potential screenshots of the information.
Screenshots posted online prior to the update, exposed the meeting ID and allowed malicious trolls to “Zoom-bomb” the meeting to pull pranks and spread offensive material.
The Department of Justice considers Zoom-bombing a crime that could lead to fines or jail time.
