Gov. Evers moves state’s spring election to June 9

Less than 24 hours before Wisconsin polls were set to open, Gov. Tony Evers shut down Tuesday's election on April 7 to avoid causing more coronavirus-related illnesses and deaths in the state.

On Monday, April 6, Evers issued an executive order that bars in-person voting on the following day. The state’s spring election is now scheduled for Tuesday, June 9. Learn more.
