The IRS has provided guidance for the tax filing deadline extension to July 15, announced March 20, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notice 2020-18 was released shortly after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin broke the news about the filing extension. The AICPA expressed its thanks to Treasury and the IRS for the extension and to its members and the state CPA societies for their outreach to federal legislators and administrators on the issue.
