First, pause and breathe. Take a minute to center yourself so that you can present a calm, rational force to your colleagues and clients.
And then consider your audience. What are your workers’ or clients’ concerns, questions or interests? What, exactly, do they need an immediate answer to? The quicker you can address their worries, the quicker you’ll be able to calm them down.
