Wisconsin’s economy remains strong, but respondents of the semi-annual Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) survey are less optimistic than last year.
In the summer of 2019, 78% of respondents said the state economy was strong or very strong. In the latest survey, released Jan. 8, that number dropped to 58%. Views of the U.S. economy remained slightly stronger than Wisconsin with 65% of respondents saying the national economy was strong.
Respondents claimed a lack of available workforce was their biggest challenge heading into 2020. The WMC report found 75% of respondents said they had trouble finding workers. Review the WMC survey results here.
