Consumers will no longer have to pay baseball stadium sales tax in five Wisconsin counties starting March 31.
Wisconsin law will soon end the 0.1% baseball stadium and sales and use tax, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) recently announced. The tax was implemented in 1996 to help cover construction and operating costs of Miller Park. The board that oversees the Southeast Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District plans to make certification to the DOR in March 2020 to end the tax on March 31.
Starting April 1, retailers in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine and Waukesha counties cannot collect baseball stadium tax.
