Renewal of the CPA license will require completion of at least 80 continuing professional development (CPD) credits during a two-year period preceding the license renewal date, the Wisconsin Accounting Examining Board recently announced. The act goes into effect for the biennium beginning Sunday, Dec. 15.
The act specifies 50% of the credits can be earned through self-directed learning activities, research and board service. CPAs can also earn credit by participating in experiential learning activities determined to be relevant to the competency of their practice.
Specific requirements for CPA license renewal can be found in ch.Accy2 the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
