After revamping Form 1040 into a postcard-sized form last year, the IRS and U.S. Treasury Department went back to the drawing board. They’re now pitching a new version that’s 1.5 inches longer than last year’s.
One change the agencies made was to return the income reconciliation schedule to the front page. A finalized version of the latest Form 1040 should be ready by November. Comments on this version can be sent before Aug. 15 to WI.1040.Comments@IRS.gov.
