A recent trend has emerged of young professionals “ghosting” employees who’ve made them an offer they decided not to accept. But there are graceful ways to decline a job offer.
Results of a recent survey showed that 28% of professionals have reneged on job offers they’ve already accepted. While there may be a variety of reasons, the main ones are: receiving a better offer (44%); receiving a counteroffer from their current employer (27%); and hearing bad things about the company after accepting (19%).
Recruiters offer three pieces of advice to those thinking of backing out of an offer.
