Cybercriminal groups operate much like any legitimate (or illegitimate) company, competing with each other for “business” and actively recruiting CEO-like leaders.
While not all cybercrime groups are the same, many are structured like organized crime, where there’s a boss who oversees organizational goals and hires "project managers" who execute different parts of each cyberattack based on their own specializations.
Cybersecurity experts believe it’s important to understand how these groups work so companies can get a better handle on the what they’re fighting and the malicious tactics that are used.
