The IRS has recently seen an increase in the number of taxpayers coming into Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) without making appointments. The agency suggests reminding clients to schedule appointments if they wish to visit a TAC and to visit IRS.gov for convenient assistance alternatives.
After making appointments, taxpayers will receive an automated confirmation email.
