AICPA, NASBA seek input on new CPA pathway

March 5, 2025

The AICPA and NASBA are accepting comments for the next 60 days on an additional CPA pathway and changes to the practice mobility model.

The proposed changes to the Uniform Accountancy Act (UAA) would enable states to adopt a third licensure pathway that requires earning a bachelor’s degree with an accounting concentration, completing two years of professional experience and passing the CPA Exam.

The UAA provides state legislatures and boards of accountancy with a national model that they can adopt in full or in part to meet the licensure needs of each jurisdiction.

The AICPA and NASBA will accept comments on the proposal through Saturday, May 3.
