A recent poll shows that Americans are increasingly optimistic about the U.S. economy, stock market and the likelihood of inflation and borrowing costs falling.
The Gallup poll found that 53% of Americans expect the U.S. economy to grow over the next six months, based on telephone interviews conducted in January with about 1,000 adults.
About 61% of respondents expect stocks to rise — the most since Gallup began asking the question in 2001.
Although 52% of those polled see inflation rising in coming months, that's the smallest chunk since 2003.
A record 33% said they expect inflation to drop. The poll also shows that 41% expect interest rates to fall. See more findings.
