A global survey by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) finds that ethical challenges in the accounting profession are growing more complex as technology accelerates global business expansion.
Nearly one in four accountants (24%) report facing pressure to act unethically in the past three years, while 55% of finance executives say they have witnessed unethical behavior during their careers.
The survey, which includes responses from 1,165 finance executives across 135 countries, also finds that 26% of respondents view technology as an ethical concern. A key issue is ensuring the unbiased, transparent and accountable use of artificial intelligence in decision-making. Read more.
