The IRS has created a video message for taxpayers, urging them to file electronically, file on time and use reliable tax preparers who are familiar with the new tax laws.
In the video, IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig reminds taxpayers they can check their refund status, make payments and find information on the new tax laws on the IRS website. He encourages taxpayers to conduct an annual “paycheck checkup” by using the calculator on the site to compute accurate 2019 federal withholding amounts. He also suggests taxpayers use a reliable tax preparer who is familiar with the recent tax law changes.
Because of the many changes in the tax laws created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, it’s important that taxpayers have this information. The IRS asks that you share the video and their website with your clients.
