The generative artificial intelligence (AI) boom is already having a significant impact on companies’ merger-and-acquisition (M&A) dealmaking strategies, according to a recent survey by KPMG.
Approximately eight out of ten dealmakers responding to the poll indicated that generative AI has influenced their M&A activity. Nearly half of these respondents reported that their strategy includes acquiring generative AI technology or products.
Moreover, 42% of respondents stated that their organizations are focused on leveraging generative AI technology to support the M&A deal process. A smaller portion, 21%, expressed interest in pursuing deals to acquire AI talent.
The KPMG survey, conducted in June, gathered responses from 200 U.S. business leaders who regularly participate in M&A decisions. Learn more.
