PEEC releases exposure drafts on recruiting, tax services

June 12, 2024

The AICPA Professional Ethics Executive Committee (PEEC) has released exposure drafts on recruiting and tax services for attest clients that, if adopted, will apply to members in public practice.

The proposed revisions to the "Executive or Employee Recruiting" interpretation address potential threats to independence when members perform recruiting services for attest clients.

The proposed revisions to the "Tax Services" interpretation address potential threats to independence when members perform tax advisory and planning services to attest clients.

PEEC believes its proposed changes to the two interpretations will keep the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct current in a rapidly changing, global environment.

The committee will accept comments on both exposure drafts via email to ethics@aicpa.org through Friday, Sept. 20.
