Economy faring well

During the recent American Bankers Association Conference, Federal Reserve Bank Governor Michelle Bowman gave her first public remarks as a federal policymaker. She told the audience the economy looks good, with solid wage growth and low inflation.

Bowman agrees with the Fed’s approach to monetary policy that leaves interest rates at current levels indefinitely. She has one of 10 votes on the Federal Open Market Committee, which sets rate policy.
