The IRS is establishing a new work unit within its Large Business and International division to enhance tax compliance at large partnerships and other pass-through entities.
The unit will include people hired as part of the agency’s initiative to hire 3,700 agents to increase audits of large partnerships, corporations and high-income individuals. The unit aims to ensure that the nation's wealthiest tax filers pay the full amount owed.
The unit will leverage funding from the Inflation Reduction Act to disrupt efforts by certain large partnerships to use pass-throughs to avoid paying taxes. Learn more.
