Tax season opened Monday, Jan. 28, a day earlier than last year. The IRS expects more than 150 million individual tax returns will be filed for the 2018 tax year. IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said the IRS will do everything it can to have a smooth filing season. The IRS expects to send out the first refunds in early February.
