IRS seeks new TAP volunteers

February 21, 2022

The IRS is now accepting applications to serve on its Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP).

Volunteers who serve on the TAP advisory committee help to improve IRS services by listening to taxpayers and making recommendations based on their concerns. The TAP submits dozens of IRS recommendations a year.

To the extent possible, the TAP includes members from all U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Each member represents the interests of taxpayers in their regions.

The TAP is currently seeking candidates across the country, including representatives in Wisconsin. New members will serve a three-year term starting in December 2022. The IRS will accept applications through April 8. See TAP openings.
