The AICPA Peer Review Board clarified its standards on Feb. 2 for performing and reporting on peer reviews.
The guidance will go into effect for CPA firms and peer reviewers later this year.
The clarified standards aim to make peer review guidance easier to read, understand and use while not significantly changing existing standards. See the changes.
The AICPA will publish the final standards in the April update to the Peer Review Manual.
