Gov. Tony Evers is directing more than $5 million of federal funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act to expand broadband internet in unserved and underserved areas of the state.
In a Sept. 23 press release, Evers said the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) will award funding to applicants from the 2020 broadband expansion grants who did not receive funding and are able to connect customers by Dec. 30.
The PSC is also accepting applications for a second round of $24 million in grants appropriated in the 2019-2021 state biennial budget. The application period ends Dec. 1. Apply here.
