WICPA Membership FAQ
I’ve submitted my application for membership in the WICPA. Now what?
Applications for WICPA membership are usually processed within two to three business days after they are received. Applicants become members on the last day of the month in which the application was submitted. During the first week of the following month, new member packets and dues invoices are mailed to new members (unless your current firm is part of our firm pay program, in which case the dues invoice will be sent to your firm). Member certificates are mailed approximately one month after the date of instatement.
What is the annual dues cycle for membership?
WICPA membership dues are billed annually on May 1. For new members, dues are prorated and mailed the first week of the month following your application date.
How can I request my membership ID number?
You can request your WICPA membership ID number by contacting the WICPA at 262-785-0445 ext. 3024 or sharon@wicpa.org. Your membership number is also printed next to your name on WICPA mailings such as On Balance or The Bridge. Your WICPA membership ID number is generated by the WICPA member database and is not related to your CPA license number.
My work status/contact information has changed. How do I notify the WICPA about this change?
Address and contact information changes can be made in the My Membership area under Manage My Membership. Work status changes such as retirement, working part-time and leave of absence can be made by contacting the WICPA at 262-785-0445 ext. 3024 or sharon@wicpa.org.
I’ve paid my WICPA annual dues but now I’ve received a notice that I need to renew my CPA license. I thought I already paid for this?
The WICPA annual dues and the license renewal are two separate fees. The license renewal is a biannually fee charged by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing and is necessary to keep an active CPA license in Wisconsin. Contact the DRL at 608-266-5511 or http://drl.wi.gov/index.htm.
I would like to resign my WICPA membership. How do I go about this and does this affect my license status? Does this leave me with a “black mark” in case I would like to reinstate my membership in the future?
You can resign your WICPA membership by phone at 262-785-0445 ext. 3024; by e-mail at sharon@wicpa.org or written notice at WICPA, 235 N. Executive Drive, Suite 200, Brookfield, WI 53005. Membership in organization does not affect licensing status in any way. A resigned member may reinstate his or her membership at a later date and will not receive a “black mark.” If the reinstatement is made more than a year after the membership is terminated, the reinstating member will have to submit another application.
