2009 WICPA STRATEGIC PLAN

WICPA Creates a Strategic Plan

As a professional membership association which serves CPAs, we need to keep up with regulatory, financial, technological, human resource and other changes.

Merely responding to change, however, offers fewer opportunities to effectively achieve our goals than does proactively shaping change to influence our future. The accelerating rate of change requires strategic thought, plans, and actions to enhance our relevance and effectively accomplish our goals. The WICPA strategic plan is not a document, but rather a thoughtful process beginning with well-informed individuals collaboratively developing a plan and action steps.

The links below will take you to pages that describe the background, process, vision and action steps for the WICPA strategic plan in the context of:

The Purpose of our strategic plan
The Past strategic plans
The People participating
The Process of strategic planning
The Strategic Plan and Action Steps

It is important to recognize that the revised strategic plan remains consistent with the overall mission of the WICPA to serve its members, assure the public, and maintain the integrity of the accounting profession through the provision of continuing education, peer review, and community service opportunities; involvement in the legislative process; and communication with the public through the print and broadcast media.

The WICPA staff will develop and implement activities and programs in accordance with the strategic plan in order to accomplish the WICPA mission. Activities and programs will be evaluated on an ongoing basis for consistency with the strategic plan and mission.

As always, we welcome your input, questions and suggestions. For more information on the WICPA Strategic Plan, contact WICPA Presdient & CEO Dennis Tomorsky, CPA, J.D., CGMA at dennis@wicpa.org or 262-785-0445 ext. 3014.
