The WICPA Board of Directors represents the membership, exercises leadership, participates in strategic planning, and approves the annual WICPA budget, bylaw amendments, selection of auditors, and other actions relating to organizational governance. The board consists of 15 members.
The WICPA is seeking Board member applications for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Open Board member positions include Chair-elect, one (1) Secretary/Treasurer, three (3) Directors and one (1) AICPA Council.

Jean M. Hansen, CPA, MBA, CGMA is the vice president of finance at Manitowoc Tool & Machining, LLC in Manitowoc. Hansen has been a member of the WICPA since 1996 and currently serves on the Finance Committee and Membership Advisory Committee. She lives in Two Rivers with her husband, Jeff, and has two adult children, Sarah and Dane and enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, Grace.
Steven G. Handrick, CPA, CGMA - Chair-elect
Steven G. Handrick, CPA, CGMA is the managing partner of Hawkins Ash CPAs, LLP. Handrick has been a member of the WICPA since 1982, was on the board of directors from 2005–2008, and was a member of the WICPA’s Credit Union Committee. He has been chair of the AICPA’s PCPS Large Firm Group since 2012. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Green Bay and its current treasurer, plus treasurer for Rotary District 6220 and Rotary International Midwest PETS. He lives in De Pere with his wife, Mary, and has four adult children and two grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family, vacationing in the Caribbean and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Robert A. Gruber, Ph.D., CPA, CGMA– Past Chair
Robert A. Gruber, Ph.D., CPA is an accounting professor at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, serving as its department chair (2001-2009). Gruber is past president of the WICPA Educational Foundation. He was a school board member for the Mukwanago Area School District (1998-2004), and served on the Disney Internships and Programs National Advisory Board (2009-2012). Gruber and his wife, Cindy, an accounting instructor at Marquette University, live in Mukwonago. They have two children: Alyssa and Robbie.
Joy L. Hertlein, CPA, CGMA – Secretary/TreasurerJoy L. Hertlein, CPA, CGMA, is the chief financial officer of New Berlin Plastics in New Berlin. Hertlein has been a member of the WICPA since 1987 and currently serves on the Institute’s CPAs in Industry Fall Conference Task Force. She has also served on the WICPA Board of Directors, Finance Committee, Nominations Committee, Executive Search Committee, and the CPAs in Industry Spring Conference Task Force. Hertlein lives in New Berlin with her husband, Jerry, and has three teenage children, Michael, Emily and Andrea.
Lucien A. Beaudry, CPA, J.D. - Director
Lucien A. Beaudry, J.D., CPA is a shareholder in the law firm of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., in Milwaukee. Lucien is chair of the firm’s Federal Tax Planning and Executive Compensation teams. He has been a member of WICPA since 2009 and currently serves on its Federal Tax Committee and the Tax Conference Task Force. He lives in Elm Grove with his wife, Hollie, and his two children, Mason and Lily.
Kyle J. Beld, CPA – Director
Kyle Beld, CPA is a senior accountant at Wipfli in Madison. A WICPA member since 2008, he serves as a member of the Institute’s Young Professionals Committee, Public Policy Committee and Excellence Awards Committee. He has also participated in the WICPA High School Educator Symposium. Kyle and his wife, Sara, live in Lodi and have three children, Walter, Vivian, and Eleanor.
Ryan J. Hanson, CPA, CGMA – DirectorRyan J. Hanson, CPA, CGMA is the financial accounting manager at MGIC Investment Corporation in Milwaukee. Hanson, a WICPA member since 2004, serves as a member of both WICPA Public Policy Committee and Competency Enhancement Task Force. He is the current chair of the Institute’s CPAs in Industry Fall Conference Planning Task Force, of which he has been a member since 2007. Outside of the WICPA, he teaches financial literacy and coaches youth sports. He lives in Brookfield with his wife, Amanda, and their two children: Evan and Haydan Mae.
Katherine L. Hauser, CPA, CGMA – DirectorKatherine L. Hauser, CPA, CGMA is the accounting supervisor at Price Engineering Company, Inc. in Hartland. A WICPA member since 2001, she has served on the Institute’s CPAs in Industry Fall Conference Planning Task Force since 2007. When not working, she enjoys reading, sports and music.
William K. Komisar, CPA, J.D. – Director
William L. Komisar, CPA, J.D., is a partner in the accounting and tax departments of Komisar Brady & Co., LLP. Komisar specializes in tax planning and consulting with a diverse range of business and individual clients. He has been a member of the WICPA since 1980 and is past chair of the WICPA Educational Foundation. Komisar is also a past chair of the Jewish Home & Care Center and its foundation. Also, he currently serves on the audit and compliance committee of Children’s Hospital as well as on a number of other organizations including private foundations. Komisar is the 2015 recipient of the WICPA Excellence Award for Public Service. Komisar and his wife, Becky, live in Mequon and have three grown children.
Matthew A. Los, CPA - Director
Matthew Los, CPA is a Corporate Controller at Badger Magnetics, Inc. in Milwaukee. Los, a WICPA member since 2008, serves on its Young Professional and Excellence Awards committees and volunteers with other local organizations. He and his wife, Amy, live in Mukwonago and have two children, Natalie and Jacob.
Scott D. Miller, CPA, ABV, PFS, CVA - DirectorScott D. Miller, CPA/ABV, CVA, PFS is president and founder of Enterprise Services, Inc. (ESI) a niche nationally recognized firm focused on consulting and providing valuations for privately held companies, many with ESOPs. Miller, a serial entrepreneur, has been an equity investor and officer in several private companies prior to founding ESI. He has authored five books on business transactions, speaks frequently to national audiences on strategic transition planning and is active at senior levels in industry volunteer work. He received the 2012 WICPA Business & Industry Excellence Award and currently serves on the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services Executive Committee.
Gregory L. Ryan, CPA - DirectorGreg Ryan, CPA is the office managing partner of KPMG’s Milwaukee office, directing all aspects of operations in the Wisconsin market. He has more than 20 years of experience, serving a variety of clients, from middle market, privately held companies to large public multinational companies. Ryan is currently a director on the WICPA Education Foundation. He is also a committee member for the United Performing Arts Fund, the Marquette University National Alumni Board and the Greater Milwaukee Committee. He lives in Franklin with his wife, Anne, and their two children, Maggie and Colin.

Unger, a WICPA member since 2000, currently serves as chair of its School District Auditors Conference Committee. She is a board of trustees and finance committee member for the Public Policy Forum. She lives in the Town of Erin with her husband, Joe, and her daughters, Leslee and Elizabeth.

Nicholas S. Lascari, CPA, CEA, CGMA – AICPA Council
Nick Lascari, CPA, CEA, CGMA is an owner and partner with Balistreri, Jezo & Lascari, LLP in Brookfield. He specializes in small business and pass-throughs. He is a past president and chair of the WICPA Board of Directors, and has volunteered with several other organizations including serving as past chairman and current treasurer of the Better Business Bureau, the Journey House, Civic Music Association and St. Jude Congregation. He has served the WICPA as past chair of the Federal Tax Committee and Tax Conference Committee, and served on the AICPA Partnership Tax Committee, Individual Tax Committee, and Tax Legislation and Policy Committee. He currently serves on the WICPA Federal Taxation Committee and is the AICPA Key Federal Person Coordinator for Wisconsin. He enjoys golfing, home improvement projects, gardening and travel with his wife, Delores, to visit their two grown sons, daughters-in-law and four grandchildren.

Neil R. Keller, CPA, ABV, CVA is the partner in charge of the Tax Department for Sikich, LLP. Keller has been a member of the WICPA since 1996 and currently serves on the Finance Committee, Membership Advisory Committee and Accounting Careers Committee. He lives in Pewaukee with his wife, Lynn, and their two children: Lily and Emmy.
