Leadership
The WICPA Board of Directors manages the WICPA’s affairs and is made up of 15 members. Of the members, nine are designated as vice presidents, four as officers, and two as directors. Board members are fellow members and are licensed to practice public accounting in Wisconsin.

Board biographies
William G. Heinrich, CPA - President
Bill G. Heinrich is a shareholder and director of quality control at Schenck Business Solutions in Green Bay. Heinrich has been a member of the WICPA since 1982 and has served on the Board and Peer Review Committee. He volunteers with several community organizations including the Allouez Optimist Club and the Greater Green Bay YMCA. He and his wife, Lori, live in Green Bay and have three adult children.
Ray Petkovsek, CPA - Past President
Ray Petkovsek is a partner at the CPA firm of Petkovsek & Moran, LLP in Madison. Petkovsek has been an active member of the WICPA for 17 years and has served the WICPA Educational Foundation, Inc. in promoting accounting careers to students and young professionals. An avid musky fisherman, he also enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sue, live in Madison. They have three children, Kim, Brian, and Roger.
Nicholas S. Lascari CPA - President elect
Nicholas S. Lascari, CPA has been a member of the WICPA’s Public Policy Committee, Federal Taxation Committee, Wisconsin Taxation Committee, Annual Tax Conference Committee and the Key Person Program. Lascari and his wife, Delores, live in Wauwatosa. They have two sons, Jeffrey and Scott. He enjoys golfing, traveling and sightseeing.
Todd J. Poppe, CPA – Secretary-Treasurer
Todd Poppe, CPA is chief financial officer, at Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) in Milwaukee. Poppe joined the WICPA in 1993. He has volunteered with various community organizations including the Wisconsin Government Finance Officers Association. He and his wife, Dawn, live in Germantown and have three children.
Thomas J. Alberte, CPA – Vice President
Tom Alberte, CPA is a senior Director in the multi-state tax practice of BDO Seidman, LLP, and heads up their business incentives practice. Tom has been a member of the WICPA since 1987 and is currently serving on the WICPA Public Policy Committee. He also served on the WICPA Regulatory: Insurance Committee. During his career, Tom has worked in public accounting and in private industry. He and his wife, Mary, live in Brookfield and have four children, Elizabeth, Jenny, Eric and Steve.
Jennifer M. Binsfeld, CPA – Vice President
Jennifer M. Binsfeld, CPA is a supervisor at Schreiber Foods, Inc. in Green Bay. A WICPA member since 2003, Binsfeld has volunteered as a financial literacy advocate and high school accounting speaker. She also volunteers with several community organizations including the after school program at Lincoln Elementary School in Green Bay and as a fundraising participant for the National MS Society. She lives in Wrightstown with her husband, Matthew.
Sandra S. Chapman, CPA – Vice President
Sandra S. Chapman, CPA is a manager at Engelson & Associates, Ltd. in Holmen, Wis. Chapman has been a WICPA member since 1998 and has been involved with the Accounting Careers Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in her children's busy lives, attending football, basketball and baseball games, piano lessons, gymnastic meets and dance performances. She and her husband, John, have two children, Ryan and Samantha.
Jessica B. Gatzke, CPA - Vice President
Jessica B. Gatzke, CPA is a supervisor in the tax department at Scribner, Cohen and Company SC, CPAs and Advisors in Milwaukee. Gatzke has been a member of the WICPA since 2004 and has served in several capacities including member and chair of both the Tax Conference Task Force and the Young Professionals Committee. She also volunteers with several other organizations including the Task Force on Family Violence in Milwaukee. She and her husband, Chris, live in Hales Corners.
Jean M. Hansen, CPA – Vice President
Jean M. Hansen, CPA is controller at Manitowoc Tool & Machining, LLC in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Hansen joined the WICPA in 1996. She and her husband, Jeff, have two grown children, Sarah and Dane. Hansen enjoys spending time in her cabin with her family and friends, reading and recreational bike riding.
Kenneth (Ken) M. Macur, CPA – Vice President
Kenneth M. Macur, CPA is associate academic dean and professor of accounting and information systems at Edgewood College in Madison. Macur also manages a small strategic management consulting practice. Within the accounting curriculum, he has taught every topic with the exception of tax and has received numerous awards for teaching and research. He joined the WICPA in 1992 and has been a presenter at several past WICPA conferences. He and his wife, Franziska, live in Madison.
Gary Schmid, CPA - Vice President
Gary A. Schmid, CPA is comptroller/deputy treasurer for the City of West Allis. Gary has been an active member of the WICPA since 1986 and has served on task forces including the Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Management Update Conference for private, public, and government CPAs. When he has free time, Gary and his family enjoy spending time at a cabin in the Minocqua/Lac du Flambeua area. He and his wife, Brenda, live in West Allis and have two children, Erin and Jonathan.
Steven R. Volz, CPA - Vice President
Steven R. Volz, CPA is a partner with the Milwaukee CPA firm of Reilly, Penner & Benton LLP. Steve has been a member of the WICPA since 1978 and currently is serving on the WICPA Peer Review Committee and the WICPA Ethics Committee. He has also served on the AICPA's Peer Review Committee, Technical Standards Subcommittee and Government Technical Standards Subcommittee. Steve enjoys traveling and golfing in his free time. Steve lives in Menomonee Falls with his fiancée, Karen, and has three adult children, Michael, Mark and Jaclyn.
Sherry L. Watson, CPA - Vice President
Sherry Watson, CPA is a Vice President with M&I Wealth Management. Sherry has been a member of the WICPA since 1990 and currently serving on the WICPA Federal Taxation Committee and the Annual Tax Conference Planning Task Force. She has also served on the WICPA Member Recruitment and Retention Committee. During her free time, she and her husband enjoy riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles. Sherry is also an avid Marquette University basketball fan.
Gerald Denor, CPA – AICPA Council
Gerald Denor, CPA is an Executive Vice President at Dana Investment Advisors. Denor has been a member of the WICPA since 1974 and has served on the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer since 2003.
Kim L. Tredinnick, CPA – AICPA Council
Kim L. Tredinnick, CPA is a partner at Virchow, Krause and Co. LLP in Madison. He has served as president of the WICPA and has been involved on the Nominations, Peer Review and Ethic’s Committees. Tredinnick enjoys traveling, golfing and whitewater rafting. He and his wife, Toni, live in Madison. They have two sons, Chris and Matt.
